Greek star overcomes Raphael Collignon in three-set Gstaad final to regain winning touch ahead of the US Open build-up

Stefanos Tsitsipas is back in the winner's circle after ending a 16-month wait for an ATP Tour title with victory at the Swiss Open in Gstaad.

The Greek star defeated Belgium's Raphael Collignon 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-3 in an absorbing final on Sunday, producing a composed and determined performance to claim the trophy.

Tsitsipas took control early by winning the opening set 6-4 with confident serving and aggressive baseline play. Collignon refused to go away, battling back to edge the second set in a tie-break and force a decider.

With the title on the line, Tsitsipas raised his level once again. He secured the crucial break in the third set before serving out the match to seal his first ATP title since early 2025.

The triumph is a significant boost for the former world No. 3, who has endured a frustrating run without silverware. Winning in Gstaad restores confidence at the perfect time as the ATP Tour switches to the North American hard-court season in the lead-up to the US Open.

Despite the defeat, Collignon impressed throughout the tournament. The Belgian's run to the final underlined his growing potential and suggests he could become a regular contender on the ATP Tour.

For Tsitsipas, however, the day belonged to him. After more than a year without lifting a trophy, the Greek has finally rediscovered his winning touch and will head into the remainder of the season with renewed belief.
