Jude Bellingham was the man of the moment as England fought their way past Norway in extra time to book a place in the World Cup semi-finals for the first time since 2018.

The Real Madrid midfielder bagged a brace, including a stunning strike early in extra time, to flip the game on its head after Norway had gone ahead. England showed real grit to come from behind and get over the line.

Erling Haaland, Norway's danger man, was shackled for most of the game and was eventually hauled off as England's back line did a top job of keeping him quiet.

There was no shortage of drama either. England's opener came with some grumbling that it took a lucky deflection off the TV spider cam wire, while Norway had a goal chalked off by VAR for a push in the box from Haaland. All in all, a tense, scrappy quarter-final with plenty to chew over.
