Argentina got the job done with a professional 2-0 victory over Austria in what was a solid if not always sparkling performance. The result was enough to send them through to the knockout stages, but the real headline belonged to one man: Lionel Messi.

Whether it was the first or second goal, the stadium erupted the instant the ball hit the net. At 38 (or 39?), Messi is still doing things that defy logic.
