Royals Run Riot as Sooryavanshi Blitz Leaves CSK Shell-Shocked in Guwahati
Rajasthan Royals made it look embarrassingly easy in Guwahati on Sunday 30th March 2026 dismantling Chennai Super Kings inside 13 overs to win by eight wickets with 47 balls to spare.
Chennai, asked to bat first after losing the toss, never got going. The Royals' pace duo of Nandre Burger and Jofra Archer tore through the lineup with raw pace and hostility, leaving Chennai with precious little to show for their efforts. Only Jamie Overton offered anything resembling a fight, scratching together 43 off 36 balls before the tail folded. The entire innings was done and dusted for 127 in 19.4 overs — well below a competitive total.
The chase barely lasted long enough to call it a contest. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi came out swinging from ball one and reached his half-century off just 15 deliveries — one of the fastest fifties in IPL history. He finished with 52, and by the time he was dismissed, the game was as good as over. Yashasvi Jaiswal kept things tidy at the other end, seeing the Royals home unbeaten on 38 as they cantered to 128 for 2 in 12.1 overs.
Burger walked away with the Player of the Match award for his early burst with the ball, but on a night like this, Chennai will be reflecting on a batting performance that offered almost no resistance whatsoever.
**CSK: 127 all out (19.4 overs) | RR: 128/2 (12.1 overs)**
**Player of the Match: Nandre Burger (RR)*
