Former WWE Diva Shelly Martinez, best known as Ariel, has opened up about one of wrestling's most talked-about — and now largely forgotten — match formats: the Bra and Panties Match, where two women competed to strip each other down to their underwear.

Speaking on her Too Much Information Podcast, Martinez said she has absolutely no issue with the concept and admitted she always knew going in that she'd be on the losing end.

"I have no problem with it. When I have done them in the past, I always lost because everyone wants to see Shelly Martinez in her bra and panties. I always went into it knowing I'm gonna lose — because that's what they want. That's what the fans want."

Although she never took part in a Bra and Panties Match during her actual WWE stint, Martinez reckons the format still has legs. She suggested a modern-day bout between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan would be an enormous draw.

Private photos leak

The 46-year-old also addressed a more personal matter — the leak of private topless photos. On the same podcast, she said the images were likely shared without her consent by a former long-distance boyfriend or someone connected to the wrestling school where she trained.

Martinez has become a prolific podcaster in recent years, regularly sharing candid stories from her time in the business. What comes next in her career remains to be seen.
